My newest book, Bumper Sticker Leadership: One-Liner Wisdom on Life and Business, grew out of some gentle kidding from my consultant friends because I always seemed to have a quote to sum up any problem or situation. I took some of my favorite short quotes, or “bumper stickers,” and created this book.

While there is an intended light-heartedness to this book, the subject of leadership is an important one to me. I have worked with individuals in companies for more than 20 years to help them become better leaders. During this time I have noticed that some of the most helpful advice for people is actually some of the simplest. If people can understand what you are saying and how to apply it, they are more likely to implement your idea.

There is a quote on the book’s back cover, attributed to Olive Wendell Holmes, Dr. It says, “I wouldn’t give a fig for the simplicity on this side of complexity, but I would give my right arm for the simplicity on the far side of complexity.” That is what I hope to achieve with this book—the simplicity on the far side of complexity—by providing a number of simple memorable “bumper stickers” related to leadership, accompanied by some explanatory text that readers can use to become better leaders.

Also, I still collect bumper stickers. If you have a favorite phrase or two that you use in your work, I’d like to hear it! You can email me at info@BumperStickerLeadership.com.
